I was impressed with how well this doctor understood people. I am not very good with traditional medicine, especially surgery.
As a healer, I feel too much and this causes anxiety.
So when I visited the doctor after my surgery for him to clean the wound and replace the bandage, I was very nervous. I closed my eyes, and had to wiggle to release the pent up anxiety. Of course, my angels were with me. I knew it would all be well.
So he joked around to help ease my stress.
After he was done, he made a comment that had me crying.
People who can tolerate surgery, come here alot. And for people like you who don't tolerate this, and still come to do what needs to be done, takes courage
The tears still well up as I remember him saying this.
That kind of empathy is rare in doctors.
His comment reminded me of so many times that I moved forward knowing I needed to do something I didn't want to do, but knew I had to do it. And understanding and empathy were rare in those occasions. But I knew deep inside it was something I needed to do.
So take an inventiry of the times you did something you were afraid to do but knew you had to do it. And you went forward.
Own your courage. For each time you take that step forward, you are strengthened.
And that doesn't necessarily make the next time easier, but you have your 'courage wings', so use them.
